You may notice our newest edition in the donor room canteen, the “Buddy” Board named after our very own “Buddy the Blood Drop.” The “Buddy” Board is the home for pictures of our donors with their Donor Buddies. When asked why donors donate, a common response is that they have a friend who encourages them to donate, thus they become Donor Buddies, often donating together!

Honoring Donor buddies is our way of thanking these dedicated donors who donate together and motivate each other.

At NCCBB, the idea was inspired by two very committed donors, Dave Kenworthy (16 Gallons!) and Charles McCann (20 Gallons!) who always donate together. They made a commitment to one another to meet at the blood bank at a specified time supporting and motivating each other to donate often.
